This is another one of the big environmental issues of our society.Even though here it is not as important as in big town, it is vital to solve it at best, as a bad management damages the environment and life conditions of our guests.
We have personnel charged with the continuous cleaning of paths, beaches and common areas, but we ask not to leave rubbish in the area of La Francesca, into the sea or in the small beaches along the coast.
Please remind that it takes years to degrade a plastic bag which may also kill animals, such as dolphins.
It is not easy to conceive a policy at "La Francesca's way" for the waste.
What we do is obviously give it to the public service except for a small variant we will discuss later.
What we can do, and we do it, is to collect frequently (even twice a day) the waste from the bins and carry it at least once a day at the collection point outside the Village. In fact, in summer it is easy to cause smells and the arrival of insects. Therefore we pay a great attention to this activity.
By the way, did you notice that there are no flies at La Francesca?
Everybody talks about waste recycling. As far as we are concerned we had an idea for glass that is nowadays adopted in many other places (above all abroad).
We do not talk about mineral water bottles that are all returned to the producer, but the other bottles that uselessly weighted the waste bag. We reuse them inside La Francesca.
For some years, we have been making the drains of the many stone walls containing the terraces or the slopes using empty and non recyclable bottles.
This is a little idea that contributes reducing the waste but, above all, the use of gravel which will be extracted from caves or river beds. We eliminate the waste and reduce damaging excavations.
